Salvation

Are you 100% confident you are going to heaven?

If you want to answer YES to this question, then you need to understand the true gospel.

Unfortunately, there are many false gospels in the world today that give people false hope for their future.

You want the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Amen.

What is the gospel?

Gospel comes from the Greek and it means “good news.” Specifically, the good news of Jesus Christ.

His life, death, and resurrection are the essentials for your salvation.

Jesus lived a perfect life (never sinned), and died a perfect death (atoned for our sin).

God raised Jesus from the dead with a glorious new body just like the one Christians will receive for all of eternity.

What is the bad news?

The bad news is that every person has offended God. Everyone breaks His commandments. Our very nature is sinful from the start. Nobody is good.

Many think they are good because they compare themselves to bad people like thief and murderers, or they think their good outweighs their bad. If you think you are a good person, watch this VIDEO.

Only God is truly good. Heaven is a perfect place. It only takes one sin to keep a person from heaven.

We need help!

Who will help us?

Jesus has already helped us. For God so loved the world, that He sent His Son, Jesus to save us (John 3:16).

Jesus never sinned His whole life, so that when He was crucified on the cross, God accepted His blood instead of ours.

For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sin (Hebrews 9:22).

Jesus died, so we can live!

Don't all people go to heaven?

Universalism is the belief that all roads lead to heaven. Just because someone believes something is true, doesn’t make it true. The Bible clearly explains everyone will stand before God on Judgment Day.

The wages of sin is death means we deserve eternal separation from a holy God.

The gift of God (GRACE) means we are offered eternal life through Jesus Christ.

Only those that accept this gift of grace will go to heaven.

How do you receive grace?

To accept God’s gift of salvation, you must believe that Jesus is your Savior. He died for your sin.

You must also believe that God raised Him from the dead. He lives and reigns today with God the Father in Heaven. His resurrection is a promise of your future resurrection.

You must also believe Jesus is your Lord. No longer do you serve yourself. You serve the King of Kings.

Why doesn't everyone believe?

One reason is that they have yet to hear the gospel. You can’t believe what you haven’t heard.

That is why we must share the gospel. Faith comes from hearing the gospel (Romans 10:17). God opens eyes and ears when we share the good news of Jesus.

Another reason is their heart is hardened. They need us to pray and ask God to give them a new heart and Spirit (Ezekiel 36:26).

Are you born again?

In John 3, Jesus explained that a person must be born again (from above) to go to heaven. The Holy Spirit must regenerate your spirit.

Every genuine Christian has the Holy Spirit living in them. He is the only way you can have power of sin and produce fruits like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

Can you lose your salvation?

Romans 8 begins by saying that there is no condemnation when you are in Jesus Christ.

It ends by saying that nothing can separate you from the love of Jesus Christ. You will be victorious!

Ephesians 1:13 confirms that once you are saved by God, you are always saved. You are sealed!

Are you 100% confident in your salvation?

There will be times when you don’t “feel” saved. Feelings come and go. Feelings do not change your identity.

Ephesians 1-3 teaches that your identity is in Christ forever. You are a child of God!  A son or daughter of the King!! A member of His family!!!
